1 · The Rental

You are reserving an authenticated luxury timepiece from the Borrowed Time collection for the dates specified at checkout. The watch you receive is the exact watch documented at the time of reservation, identified by serial number.

2 · Anti-Swap & Counterfeit

The watch you return must be the same watch we shipped. A returned timepiece that does not match the original — substituted, swapped, or counterfeit — results in forfeit of the security deposit equal to the watch's full retail value, with no exceptions.

3 · Damage Liability

Reasonable wear from a single day of use is expected and never billed. Significant damage is assessed by our certified watchmaker, and only the cost of authenticated repair is deducted from the deposit. You will receive itemised documentation in every case.

4 · Late Return Fee

Late returns are billed at $50 per day past the agreed return date. We send a courtesy reminder 24 hours before your return window opens.

5 · Loss Policy

Loss or theft during the rental window converts the security hold into a charge equal to the watch's full retail value. You are required to file a police report within 24 hours and we will work directly with our insurer on your behalf.

6 · Authentication

Upon return, our certified watchmaker re-authenticates the timepiece by serial number, movement signature, and dial photograph. The security deposit is released within 3 business days of successful authentication.

7 · Tamper-Evident Packaging

The watch ships in a numbered, factory-sealed presentation case. If the seal arrives broken, refuse delivery. Do not open compromised packaging — contact us immediately and we will dispatch a replacement.

8 · Bracelet Sizing & Spare Links

Every watch is pre-fit by our certified watchmaker to the wrist measurement provided at checkout. Any links removed during sizing are sealed in a numbered velvet pouch and shipped inside the presentation case. All spare links must be returned with the watch. A missing link is billed at $200 per link, deducted from the security hold and itemized on your final receipt.

9 · Customer-Performed Adjustments

Most luxury bracelets include a hidden micro-adjust clasp that allows ±2–3 mm of fine-tuning without tools. We do not authorize the customer or any third party to remove or replace bracelet links. If on-the-day fit changes are needed, contact us and we will reimburse a local jeweler adjustment up to $40 against an itemized receipt. Customer-performed link removal that results in scratched, deformed, or missing links is billed at $50 per link plus the cost of authenticated repair, regardless of intent.

10 · Strap Swaps

Watches that ship with both a bracelet and a leather or rubber strap from the factory may be worn on either configuration during the rental window. The original shipped configuration must be restored before return. Loss or damage to either strap is billed at the manufacturer's replacement cost, deducted from the security hold.
